At Precious Residential Home, we are proud to support the local community in providing day care and evening services to those in need of support.

We offer half-day, full-day and evening sessions where you will be supported by fully trained Care Assistants to make the most of our facilities.

During your visit, you will have access to our:

We provide a range of activities which are tailored to your needs and preferences and encourage you to maintain your current skills and interests, with a focus on the benefits of social wellbeing.

Our activities program includes arts & crafts, chair based exercises & yoga, quizzes and board games, musical workshops, themed days, entertainers, movie afternoons, gardening club, knit ‘n’ natter groups and much more. We can support you in personal care tasks as needed and cater for various dietary needs and preferences.

Visiting loved ones

We know how important visits from loved ones are to everyone right now. We have a dedicated visiting area which visitors can pre-book. This has a clear screen to keep everyone safe.

Please check with the home manager for guidance on how to keep your visit as safe as possible and to help plan your visit.

Accommodation & Facilities

Precious Residential Home is a 38-bedded care home with the majority having en-suite facilities.

Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and mementos to ease the transition into the Care Home and create a home-from-home environment.

In addition to this, we have several bathrooms, which are specially adapted for those who are less able.

The accommodation boasts multiple communal areas, a large dining room, a conservatory which consists of a bar and is used for residents’ entertainment, cinema room, sensory room, quiet room, on-site salon, large garden area consisting of ample seating, water feature, chicken coup and bird cages.

Dining & Nutrition

We realise the fundamental importance of nutrition and providing a healthy, balanced diet for all of our residents is part of our philosophy here at Precious Residential Home.

Our cooks make three freshly prepared meals each day.

Menus are provided for residents to choose their meals and various diets are catered for including diabetic, vegetarian, gluten free, lactose free and many more.

Tea and biscuits are served mid-morning and mid-afternoon as well as when required.

Meals can be provided for visitors if required.

If the residents require further refreshments at other times of the day they need only ask any of the care assistants.

Activities

Precious has a large selection of recreational and leisure facilities for our residents to enjoy. We have an Activities Organiser who devises weekly activities with input from our residents. Every resident is given the choice to join in at a level they feel comfortable with.

On admission to the Care Home, we will find out about the new resident’s interests and hobbies. Every effort is made to encourage them to continue with those interests or develop new ones.

Our gardens are accessible and garden furniture is provided for those wishing to sit outside. Our colleagues encourage and can assist residents for short walks on the patio or the garden.

We have a wide variety of activities including bingo, cards, dominoes, puzzles and games for mental and physical stimulation. We have a small library of books, many with large print.

The activities are held throughout the week, with time spent with those residents that are unable to take part in group activities, having one to one sessions with our Activities Organiser.

The Care Home arranges for professional performers to come into the home at regular intervals, these include musicians and local groups. Day trips and excursions outside the home are arranged for our residents during the summer months. We continue to raise funds for our activities by undertaking yearly summer fêtes, open days and raffles.

Keeping Connected

Residents’ family and friends are encouraged to visit them regularly or maintain contact by digital means, telephone or letter when visiting is not possible. In these cases, our colleagues will offer assistance to reply where help may be needed.

Visitors are welcomed at any time and are asked to let the Person in Charge know of their arrival and departure from the Care Home. For security and fire safety reasons, all visitors must sign the Visitors Book on each occasion.
During the pandemic, contact with others and visiting will be in line with the Guidelines from the Government, Department of Health and Social Care, Local Authorities with full Infection Prevention Control Measures in place.

Technology available in our home helps keep our residents in touch with loved ones via specialist apps and video calls.
