Nursing and Residential Care

At Well Springs we offer residential and nursing care as well as respite care if we have an available room. We pride ourselves on supporting people living with a range of conditions and offering the highest level of nursing care possible. We enjoy caring for 48 residents within one communal setting.

We feel this approach of having different people, of varying ages and conditions “under one roof” gives us the homely feel so many visitors and health professionals comment on.

Our palliative and end of life service offers residents a place to be comfortable in a peaceful and serene environment. Our staff go through specialist training in this area to truly make a difference to those we care for.

Our Facilities

Our high level of care is only possible because of our great staff and our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to cater for people with high-end nursing needs.

With beautifully decorated single and double en-suite rooms available, we offer a variety of options across three internally connected wings. All wings lead in to a large communal lounge and separate dining room.

We have a commitment to fulfilling the potential of those we care for and this is achieved by having an inclusive and engaging approach. Unless it is someone’s categorical wish to remain in their own company, we will encourage people to be amongst others so we can share a smile and a laugh at every opportunity.

Our History

Built in the late 1800’s the Victorian building was home to a famous wool manufacturer who owned land throughout Heaton. To this very day some of this land has been gifted back to the community and sports clubs of Heaton to promote the health and wellbeing of our community.

In 1984 the home was purchased to open as a care home and this is when Well Springs Nursing Home was formed. Later bought by the current owner, in 2006, Well Springs grew in reputation and quality.

Since the home was first transformed into a care home in 1986 there have been two extensions resulting in an overall capacity of 63 beds. Our more senior staff have experience ranging from 10 to 25 years with Well Springs and this is evident in the family-based approach we bring to the home we so dearly love.
